Just like with tests, the project instructions asked the LLM to run these tools after every major code change. I noticed that clang-tidy would often produce diagnostics that would force Claude to rewrite parts of the code. If I had access to some of the more expensive static analysis tools (such as Coverity), I would have added them to my development process too.
